After 4 not so bad ideas (I’d like to think), here we have it, a truly bad idea.
If you haven’t guessed it from the very terrible pun and from the picture for this post, then I’m not sure this is the type of blog for you.

First there was the sushi craze, then came the poke craze…well the next big thing coming to you guys is the SOUPSHI CRAZE.
p r o d u c t:
Sushi soup bowls. Just like poke but instead of being rice filled it’s soup filled. It is a perfect low carb version of sushi that you can’t get out there unless you just straight up order sashimi!!! But just ordering that is OUTRAGEOUS!
Step 1 – Choose your soup base
- Szechuanese Mala tang?
- Pho broth?
- Straight up soy sauce?
- THE OPTIONS ARE ENDLESSSSS BECAUSE THIS IS JUST AN IDEA!!!!
Step 2 – Pick your rice
Just like your sushi has rice, this lovely soup will also have rice. You will have many options also, do not fret. See below:
- white sushi rice
Step 3 – Pick your protein
- Raw salmon
- Raw tuna
- Raw mackeral
- Raw escolar
- Raw urchin
- Imitation crab meat
Basically anything you can find in sushi
Step 4 – Pick your toppings
- Fish roe
- Cream cheese
- Sesame seeds
Now tell me all these options don’t sound amazing. The warm miso broth filling your soul coupled with the cold raw tuna slices truly satisfies that craving that you’ve never ever had. Hot and cold, yin and yang, sometimes opposites do really attract and sometimes they don’t!
The cost to set up a soupshi shop would be quite low. It’ll be set up like those make your own poke bowl stands or if you’ve never had poke like a Subways. You just stand there and pick all your toppings. Of course, for those who are intimidated by options (no not financial ones…because who ain’t intimidated by those), there will be preset soupshis curated by yours truly with pairings that truly match.
Names for curated orders:
- Through the tunal
- Roe roe roe your fish
- Wassap B!
- This won’t give you salmonella
- Yuzu good guy
….ANDDDDDDDD that’s it folks! A truly bad idea from yours truly!
First there were rolls, then there were bowls, now there are holes (in the heart being filled with the missing piece of soupshi).
